After Takara Tomy's hero series Tomica Hero had ended, Takara Tomy decide to partner up with Osaka Fire Department to bring forth a new HERO! SABER MIRAI!
The hero is created in order to raise disaster awareness among young children, Osaka Fire Department decide to work with Takara Tomy to create a hero that came from the future, "Saber Mirai". The motif of the hero is a Fire Fighter that came from the future.
After then end of previous Tomica Hero series, that was meant to teach children about disaster awareness and precautions, Takara Tomy decide to create yet another hero that will be much more meaningful. As a result, they bring forth a new member from the Osaka Fire Department, Saber Mirai. The character is also based on Takara Tomy's famous Tomica Heroes series which contents a high affinity for fire fighting theme.
Here's the character backstory for "Saber Mirai":
Saber came from the future and works in the Osaka Fire Department of the 23rd century. As he travel back in time to the year 2010, a certain disaster occurred in Osaka changes his life forever. Recalling such incidents, Saber obtained a goal to stop disasters by traveling back to 2012, and join a special "General Command Center Disaster Unit" under the current time, Osaka Fire Department.
*Please note, this might not be the 3rd installment of the Tomica Hero series, despite they mentioned that it is based on Tomica Hero designs. It is unsure yet if this will be made into a series or a short DVD made for campaigns to raise awareness, as this is revealed about a day ago.
