Toei had been working on Super Sentai series for over 35 years now. Pretty soon, we'll be entering Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters, but Toei had revealed yet another group of sentai! An unofficial sentai group is born! READ ON!

Hikonin Sentai Akibaranger, translated as "Unofficial Task Force Akibaranger" and is the "unofficial" installment of Toei's long running sentai series. The theme of the sentai team seems related to Japan's "Electric Town", Akihabara, a paradise for otaku. The preview of the series were earlier showcase on Tamashii website in blacken silhouettes. The series will be premiering in April, but unlike most Toei's series, it will be aired on Tokyo MX. This series also targets older viewers rather than the usual series gearing towards families. The suits were said to be designed by the same character designer of the anime series, Tiger & Bunny.

Here's a synopsis on the series:

Hikonin Sentai Akibaranger follows three protagonists who live in Akihabara's Electric Town among other otaku. When the trio learn that a malevolent entity plans to annihilate their neighborhood, they become warriors to wipe out evil — with the help of super gear created by a beautiful and brilliant genius.

The characters are:

Red- A very shy boy, who's said to be a DT(Doutei, means virgin)
Blue- A young lady with long black hair, and is a flat-chest
Yellow- A brown hair girl with large breasts
The Professor- A Sexy elder sister type, loves prank and wear glasses

So, there will be some ecchi contains where they make a soul virgin hero surrounded by sexy female characters.

The pre-screening of Hikonin Sentai Akibaranger will be held during the Tamashii Feature's Volume 3 event. It is said that to whoever who attends the pre-screening of the series will be given a "SECRET" gift. All cast of the series will appear during the pre-screening on 1st of April.

In addition, the recent issue of Figure-Oh Magazine had revealed all 3 S.H.Figuarts of Hikonin Sentai Akibaranger.

The release dates and the price of the figures is not mention, but it is revealed that each of the S.H.Figuarts Akibaranger will include a side weapon called MMZ-01 "Moe Moe Zukyuun".
