A New Gundam Project: Gundam AGE

A new era of gundams are rising! Prepare yourself for you will be brought up to a whole new age of space wars! GUNDAM AGE!

MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM AGE is the 8th incarnation of SUNRISE long running Gundam Franchise. The series was first announced in the July issue of Shogakukan's Chocoro Comics. b, who's the president of the gaming Company, b was appointed to be in charged of the story for this very series. The series was officially unveiled on 13th of June 2011. Gundam Age will start airing in Japan in the month of October 2011 on TV stations such MBS and TBS.
The series was set a hundred years later after humanity had start colonizing space. All of humanity was united as an Earth Federation and it seems that earth had been peaceful for a number of unprecedented years. In the year of A.G101(101st Advance Generation Calender) where war starts to struck on humanity when an UNKNOWN ENTITY(a.k.a U.E's) attacks and destroys the space colony Angel. This attack had become a well-known urban legend for humanity and was called "The Angel Sunset". Ever since, it had marked the beginning of a war for survival.
The story is set to be a multigenerational storyline. So, the main Gundam of the series will be piloted 3 generations of the same surname. It revolves around 3 main protagonist(who so happen to be 3 generations family member from the first protagonist), Flit Asuno; Flit's Son, Asemu Asuno; and Flit's Grandson, Kio Asuno.
The story begins with the first generation of Gundam Age's user, which is set in the year A.G108, when the U.E.'s attacks the Colony Ovan, where Flit(age 14 in the story) lives with his mother. Flit had witnessed the tragic death of his mother during the attack, and later discovers one of his mother's secret belonging. Flit found a device called the "AGE Device" and contains the blueprint of an ancient weapon, the savior of humanity known as "GUNDAM". From that, Flit spend the next several years studying engineering and designing a mobile suit called "Age-1 Gundam" in Earth Federation's base. For the long years of war, will Flit and his newly built so-called savior saved humanity?

Now, here are the info of the characters!

 Flit Asuno
The first generation of AGE-1 Gundam user and is the first protagonist of the series. After witnessing his mother's death during the attack of U.E.'s in Colony Ovan, he found a secret blueprint in an ancient device called the AGE DEVICE. From there, he had design a mobile weapon from the blueprint and called it "AGE-1 Gundam". He had devoted himself towards the defense of humanity and built AGE-1 for that very reason. He is age 14 from the start of his story.

Just recently, Bandai had set up a toy event in Japan. In one of the booth, they had displayed several products based on this series. Here are some images of the products.

 1/144 scale figure of Gundam Age mecha's, from left to right, Genoas, Age-1 Sparrow Mode, Age-1 Normal, Age-1 Titus Mode and Garfan. These figures are said to be used for a new gaming system where you will require these figures to be scanned in the machine and played the as the scanned figure.AGE-1 figure will cost 2,900yen. For Sparrow and Titus parts will be sold separately between the price 1,200yen to 1,400yen. Garfan figure will cost 3,200yen. They will be released between September 2011 to December 2011.

 1/144 scale HG model Kit, AGE-1 Gundam. The Model kit is said to be released in September 2011. Price unknown yet.

Age-1 Gundam, 1 of the Gundam Head Collection which will be set to released in December 2011. The Head Collection will cost 560yen each.

 1/42 Mega Size AGE-1 Gundam on display in one of the booth. Not sure if they are going to released such big size Model kits.
